Tasted great! I didn't slow cook this but cooked it on the stove instead. Heated onions, garlic and spices first, then added the broth, sweet potatoes and peppers until soft. Then I pulsed the soup a few times with a hand blender. Then I added the hominy and beans and brought it up to a simmer for a couple minutes. I used a little more seasonings than the recipe suggests, but the particular blend of ingredients is so good and very satisfying!
