The cake itself was delicious, but 3 cups of icing sugar for the icing? It makes zero sense. 1 tbsp water isn't enough to mix with 3 cups icing sugar. Cake ended up with 2 inch-thick layer of icing. 2nd batch we cut the icing sugar by 1/6 and added water until it had a good consistency.

Did you forget the butter in the icing? Just warm it slightly and it will spread thinner. But do NOT warm it too much!!😉

Butter isn't in the icing recipe but that might be a good idea! We just ended up cutting the sugar by like 1/6 and it was really good
