I made it! I doubled it because I didn't think it would be enough for my crew. I didn't have white sugar so I used cane sugar. I didn't have a lemon so I used lemon juice. It worked. I cooked it too long and when cool it was a delicious candy, but it re-liquified with the addition of more boiling water. Next time I will put the lemon juice in with the first water, because just cane sugar and water is like salt and water; the water evaporates and leaves the sugar behind. I had to try twice. ๐
