I have tried making this with only hamburger meat as well as the hamburger/pork mixture. Adding the pork makes this recipe considerably better - adding moisture and flavor. You can easily customize this to your liking by adding a bacon wrap or corn or mushrooms. Form the loaf on a broiling pan or sheet pan to allow excess grease to drain away. Baking in a loaf pan holds the grease in and gives the meatloaf a mushy texture that holds grease and does not hold its shape.
