Instructions

Step 1
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a broiler pan or baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Step 2
Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, beaten egg, 1/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overmix, which can result in a tough meatloaf.
Step 3
Shape Loaf: Transfer the meat mixture onto a broiling pan or sheet pan - shape into a loaf.
Step 4
Add Glaze: Spread the remaining 1/4 cup of ketchup (or desired topping) evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Step 5
Bake: Bake for 60-75 minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the center of the loaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
Step 6
Rest and Serve: Let the meatloaf rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute and helps the loaf hold its shape.
