These were a bit of a labor of love, but well worth it. All the satisfying sweetness of a sticky-bun without being overly sweet. It has a lot of depth and warmth given the spices.
I was worried about the warm-milk-dump method, but it worked very well with this recipe (no yeast activation required). The dough is very soft and supple but it yields a fluffy yet substantial bread.
It’s not necessarily an “easy” bread, but would be great for guests as you can make ahead and let rest. It’s also gorgeous!
