I made these dairy free because I had no butter. I used a bit over 1/4 a cup of applesauce and then a little over 1/4 of olive oil. I also used guten free flour. I made small balls for the cookies. Salt needs to be added, probably because I didn't consider the salt that would have been in the butter for this recipe. Way too sweet.

I would add that it was probably top sweet since I used apple sauce too. When I added a bit of salt to the last part of my batch they definitely tasted better.
