Flavour wise, these are ok, texture wise they crumbled apart readily, and did not look like the photo at all- I wonder if the original recipe was using quick cook oats.
I’m not sure what went wrong, but I won’t rule out trying them again, because it was an excellent way to use up ripe bananas!
If I do, I might try blitzing the oats a bit before mixing them in, or cooking the syrup a little longer (either could be my issue).
