I used a whole head of cabbage and added Italian sausage made with fennel. I should the tomato sauce completely and used a whole tube of tomato paste. This will elevate the recipe. Added Worcestershire sauce and caraway seeds to deepen the flavor profile. Because I used a whole head, I added a large extra carrot. Carrots are very sweet when, the brown sugar or any sugar did the matter, it's completely unnecessary.
