The instructions are not great, but that left some room for creativity! Turned out AMAZING if I do say so myself. One of my new favorite recipes hands down!
Here's what I did for 4 servings:
1) Cooked 4 cups brown rice (I was meal prepping rice for the week; more than 2x what is needed for this recipe) in rice cooker w/ water to the 5-cup line plus a splash of olive oil. Selected "brown rice" setting.
2) Microwaved chopped broccoli (~10oz) and carrots (~1/4 of typical bag of baby carrots) in a large bowl w a good amt of water for a total of 6.5 mins, stopping every 2-3 mins to see if the carrots were steamed to my liking. Drained water and added 1.5 tbsp mayo + 1.5 tbsp oyster sauce. Mixed well.
3) Seasoned salmon w/ garlic salt + pepper. Skipped the flour coating and decided to pan fry in 3-4 tbsp olive oil. Used a small bowl to mix together sauce ingredients: 2 tbsp miso paste + 2 tbsp mirin + 2 tbsp mayo. Once salmon was cooked through, drizzled sauce on top and cooked for another few mins. (if you "harvest" the thickened sauce that runs off while cooking, it's suuuuuper tasty mixed into the bowls)
4) Fried up some eggs over easy and served on top of the bowls.
5) FEAST!
