Took me a lot longer than 30 mins to make but it was lovely, tho it was a bit wet so I roughly mashed the lentils. I thought the daal was a bit bland but it was lovely with the dressing and pickle. It also makes enormous portions - I cooked for 2 and it would have fed 3. Would make it again and try leaving it to the next day plus more cayenne. Also, it needs the yoghurt so for vegan use plant-based.
