Very tasty! I used four 400ml cans black eyes peas and only 1L water and only simmered for 30 minutes, but found the canned beans didn't thicken the stock like dried beans do so I blended a portion of the soup and added it back in. I didn't have liquid smoke either so I just omitted it which was a mistake.
Next time I'll use even less water and make sure to have the liquid smoke as it was a bit bland. But definitely a great base recipe that I can see myself making a lot!
