I took the advice of lots of comments on the original recipe site. Add seasoning for sure, as written it’s way too bland. I added garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, and a bay leaf. I used chicken thighs instead of breasts. I cooked on low for 4 hours, turned up to high for 1 hour, added the biscuits and did 1 more hour on high, then put it in the oven for 20 minutes to brown the biscuits. It sounds like a lot but it’s mostly downtime. I’d make it again. This makes a TON of leftovers if you’re not cooking for a crowd.
