I misread the instructions so I didn’t use the broccoli stems. I cooking the broccoli with the carrots, onions, celery and added chopped baby bella mushrooms. I seasoned the veggies while sautéing with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Once done sautéing I put in the garlic then I used some chicken bone broth and mostly vegetable broth because that’s all I had. I used corn starch i stead of corn flour. Seasoned more with the same spices I listed above, along with the bay leaf, chili flakes and oregano. I also put in some grated Parmesan cheese while simmering. I juices one large lemon and used it while cooking for the last 15 minutes after adding the chicken. My son and I really enjoyed this soup.
