The recipe doesn't mention removing the chicken between browning and making the sauce. I chopped mine into chunks, browned it then removed it before mixing the sauce. Once the sauce had thickened I returned the chicken to the pan just to coat it. It worked out really well and the chicken was easier to portion out.
