Okay, definitely going to start this off by saying: this recipe would be PERFECT for a winter stew. The warmth of the nutmeg and paprika along with the variety of veggies and spices make this stew so hearty - it tastes heavenly. I maaaaay have, uh, accidentally dumped some smoked paprika in instead of measuring it (it was my first time cooking with paprika!!) so my stew came out incredibly spicy, but i left it to sit overnight and had some more this morning (room temperature because i'm clinically insane and prefer food to be either room temp or straight out of the fridge LOL) and it was sooo much tastier after the veggies had more time to absorb the broth (which also thickened nicely!)
I added summer sweet peas (thawed) and peaches and cream (also thawed) and kind of just... Dumped them in until the stew was the consistency I wanted it to be. I added a dash of basil flakes, and since no grocery store near me seems to sell heavy cream (and i was too lazy to make a proper substitute) i subbed for lactose-free homo milk instead. Definitely coming back to this recipe next time i'm in need of a quick and easy meal, and 110% making this for my friends and family when the weather gets cool again. :)
