Pretty misleading in the name. Does not taste like caramel at all. Let’s call it what it is - vegan maple butter. Which is fine and nice. This will make the consumption much more pleasurable as it would be used appropriately rather than just eating a set dollop.
If you decide to make, my recommendation would be to try to make it as very thin bites, maybe poured over something like a wafer or a cookie layer. Think peanut butter cup. They’re shallowly poured for a reason. If you make a tall bite you’re probably feel like you’re chewing on a candle or biting into a stick of butter .
It can probably be used the way ganache is used, but on its own is very oddly textured. Literally just sweet butter . If you’re off-put by buttercream I would not recommend
