Really enjoyed this. The onions didn't brown as much as the onions in the pictures from the recipe, but I think that's because I was using a nonstick pan and being very careful on the heat. I used yellow onions, beef broth and sherry, since that is what I had on hand, and had no complaints. The soup did not taste as good right away, but I left it on low for several hours at the end and the flavors all blended together better by the end of that time.
