That was a lot of work. I think the filling and pastry are better off made the day before, especially as the filling has to be cold. I used 1:1 gluten free flour and it crumbled a bit too much. Next time I'm going to make much more pastry - I ran out and didn't have enough for decoration. Overall it tasted great - but it's close to 4 hours work.

Meat pies are a lot of work. Pro-tip; save time with store-bought pastry shells. Buy one extra and use that for any decoration on the top shell. It will shave about two hours off your prep time.
