Such a good recipe!! I made it vegan by subbing butter for dairy-free and using veg stock instead of beef. I also added 3 cubes of Oxo meat-free beef flavoured stock. It's a very forgiving recipe, I also didn't have the right seasoning so used a couple big spoons of mixed herbs, and used a whole onion instead of the onion powder. Bit or garlic paste from a tube in there too. Turned out absolutely fabulous. The key is definitely plenty of fat (whether dairy-free or not) and salt!
