For tomato sauce
Ingredients:
1tbsp olive oil
1/2 red onion
1 garlic clove
1 can (400g) chopped tomatoes
1tbsp paprika
1tsp brown sugar
1tbsp dry basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Method:
Heat olive oil in a pan, add onion and garlic,stir occasionally . Fry for 2 minutes and add paprika, stir to coat and fry for another minute. Add chopped tomatoes, salt, pepper, dry basil and brown sugar, mix together and cook for 10-15 minutes ( or until thickened) on a medium heat. Remove from the heat and purée with emulsion blender to give it smooth consistency. Set aside to cool.
