Definetly cook in a 4qt Dutch oven, I used my 6qt and followed the directions concisely otherwise. The chicken was not cooked towards the center though everything else was getting close to, too well done. If using a larger container cook on a lower heat for a longer period of time to retain the moisture. The chicken was good after I grilled it to finish the cooking
