This was great. Like a richer, less sweet version of Beijing Beef. I subbed in a jalapeno for the red chili pepper and it was perfect for me heat-wise. I loved being able to put in the sauce ingredients one at a time versus premixing it. Came out thick and flavorful in my screaming hot wok. Others have mentioned it smelling too tomatoey, and it did. Must be a chemical reaction with the nose as it didn't taste tomatoey at all! More like a sweeter barbecue sauce taste.
