Very good recipe! We made a few modifications so that it could finish in the slow cooker. Follow the steps in the recipe in a Dutch oven until you put the resting meat back in the tomato reduction. Transfer everything to the slow cooker and set on low for 10 hours. Also added a tiny corner of star anise and all spice to warm it up and bring the flavors together. It turned out amazing! My family loved it so much that we are turning the leftovers into street tacos tonight.
