The recipe is a bust in its original form, the broth is not going to thicken by itself. If you want to try this, use heavy cream and broth or add cornstarch.

I use xanthum gum for thickening things like this. But I do think heavy cream would actually give this a good flavor. I have to try it! Thanks!
