Skipped the Beer and Jalapeno instead I added 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper and an extra cup of beef broth it turned out fantastic, and just as spicy if want less spice add less cayenne

It is a good recipe. I'll make it and change ingredients to suit my taste that day. Just can't go wrong with a good tasting starter.
