Came out awesome, but I ended up getting a full Boston butt that was 7.5 pounds. OMG did it make SO MUCH. Only do that if you have a big family or are going to a pot luck. Also I think it calls for way too much BBQ sauce, to triple the recipie it was 12 cups. Added about 8 an it came out perfect, still almost too much BBQ. Also didn't need as much root beer, just did what it said and covered it 3/4 of the way. Added onion powder and mustard seeds to the seasonings. I used sweet baby rays hickery and brown sugar, will probably use a different BBQ next time since it has more tang/acidity than we would like. 9.5 out of 10 rating from my husband an I.
