These are more Caribbean oxtails ,more like a Jamaican oxtails recipe. It's a great recipe full of flavor 😋 but it isnt southern. Jerk seasoning ,habanero peppers , ginger those are Caribbean ingredients for stews . My family is from the South and oxtails were a staple for the house . Southerners have their own way / recipe of making Smothered Oxtails or Oxtail stew . But this is a Great recipe the flavor is Awesome!!!. The meat is very tender! Will definitely make again 😋
