It seems slightly impolite to rate a recipe negatively solely because, unlike a huge portion of the internet, it has failed to cater to English speakers. (It also seems to be possible to ask a question on Whisk outside of leaving a review for the recipe.) FYI, Google Translate has long had a Detect language feature, and while it isn't infallible, you could try looking up some of the words on Wiktionary to help determine which language something is in or clarify translation questions. In any case, I suspect this is Hungarian.

Hello Adrien. I appreciate your feedback. The reason I gave this a negative feedback is that I suspect that it’s not even vegan. As for the English aspect, this is an English based app for English speaking people. I’m sure there’s apps out there for every language and I would not post recipes on them in English because that would be imposing English on non English speaking people. Simply asking someone to post a recipe in English on an English speaking app is a far cry from being impolite as you characterize it in my opinion. Also there are many recipes here in other languages but they have a link to many different language versions. Thanks for the hint that it’s Hungarian. I’ll take a look and confirm that it is in fact vegan. Have a great day.

This app is not exclusively for English speakers given that it offers various language options for recipes (though not Hungarian). I've encountered recipes in French for which I did not find an English translation. I suspect that there may be a language barrier at work here re the definition of vegan and that vegan ≠ vegetarian and involves exclusion of all animal products. The recipe (I used a dictionary to translate the ingredients and part of the instructions) calls for mascarpone, edam or gouda cheese, and butter and as such is not vegan, but your review didn't indicate that you were downvoting due to its [potentially in your eyes] being inappropriately posted to a vegan group, only that you wanted it in English.

Thanks for translating and finding that the recipe is in fact not vegan. I’ll report it to have it removed since in my eyes and the eyes of vegans around the world that support a cruelty free existence by not consuming animal products of any kind that recipe is not appropriate for vegan communities. Hopefully whisk has plans in the future the expand their language translations feature but until such time we’ll just have to do the best we can. More participation is always better than less and sharing new ideas about food and community is what this place is all about. Along with respecting other peoples values. Thanks again for your diligence.
