This has been our go to for about 9 years now. I taught my daughter how to make it and she insisted on making her own birthday cakes with this recipe since she turned 8 because it’s THAT GOOD! Sometimes we do the ganache. But most of the time we do a whipped cream cheese frosting and add fresh strawberries on top and between layers. One adaptation is that we do 3 layers with smaller pans (9”) and bake for a shorter time.
