This is a go-to for me, although I do use ricotta and not the cottage cheese (I have made it with and it was fine; I just prefer ricotta). It's an easy recipe to play with because you can do different things with the sauce, add vegetables like green peppers, mushrooms or broccoli or flavors like Italian seasoning or wine. Easy to assemble so you can freeze and bake later. Most recently I served it with vegetarian meatballs. Use a whole package of egg noodles and you'll have plenty to freeze for later!
