The steps could be more clearly written. The first 8 ingredients make the meatballs. The oil is for cooking them in a pan on the stove. The rest of the list makes the sauce. Yes, reading the entire blog post clears this up, but plenty of folks don't want to be bothered with that. Make it clear from how the ingredients are listed and how the steps are written.
