Just use canned beans in this recipe it's a straight swap

Older beans (dry) will take up to twice as long as newly dried beans. Sometimes the stores sell the older beans. If the beans have a packed on date printed on the package, you want beans no older than a year from packing ( in plastic bags). Also, if the are stored poorly the will also age faster. I love using dried beans and can my own canned beans once a year in a pressure canner to have them on hand for quick meals. I hope this helps.

I added notes to the recipe to include that if you are using older beans to do a taste test and cook for additional time as needed. I am happy to answer any questions about this!
