I personally didn't eat this as I don't eat meat, but I cooked it for my partner's work lunches and he absolutely loved it. It took a long time to cook, especially as I doubled the recipe (which made a huge pastitsio)! However, it's very freezer friendly and it sorted lunches for a good couple of weeks. I snuck a courgette into the meat sauce later and reduced the amount of mince accordingly. Followed the recipe to a T other than that, and he's inhaling it presently.
