Absolutely classic.
Note: If making cherry crumble instead, first add the cherries to a pan and heat gently until they start to release their juices. Add 1 tbsp cornflour and the sugar, mix through and cook on a low heat for 5 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken. Then pour the cherries into an ovenproof dish, stir in 1 tsp vanilla extract and continue the recipe as normal.
