Instructions
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour a madeleine pan, or use non-stick cooking spray. Place the pan in the refrigerator to chill.
Step 2
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Step 3
In a separate mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until pale and fluffy. This may take about 3-4 minutes with an electric mixer on medium-high speed.
Step 4
Stir in the vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, folding gently until just combined.
Step 5
Slowly pour the melted butter into the batter while continuously folding until fully incorporated.
Step 6
Spoon the batter into the chilled madeleine pan, filling each mold about three-quarters full. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 10-12 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
Step 7
Remove the pan from the oven and let the madeleines cool for a few minutes. Gently tap the pan to release the cookies, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 8
Once the madeleines have cooled, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval until smooth and melted.
Step 9
Dip each madeleine halfway into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off. Place the chocolate-dipped madeleines on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 10
If desired, sprinkle a pinch of orange zest or sea salt over the chocolate-coated portion of the madeleines for extra flavor and presentation.
Step 11
Let the chocolate set at room temperature or refrigerate for a few minutes until firm. Serve and relish every blissful bite!
