Instructions
Step 1
Add milk/cream and potato to the TM and cook 25 mins / 100°C / speed 1.
Step 2
Make garlic butter: Heat a sauce pan over medium low heat and add the garlic, butter, and vegetable oil. Saute until garlic is soft and fragrant, about 1½ to 2 minutes. Reserve a tablespoon of garlic butter for later.
Step 3
Once 25 minutes are up on the TM, check the potatoes, they should be very soft. If they're still slightly firm, cook for a few more minutes (the potatoes need to be completely soft to ensure lump-free mashed potato).
Step 4
Add the garlic butter, salt and pepper. Mix for 5 seconds, Speed 3. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and mix for a further 5 seconds, Speed 3.
Do NOT over-mix or the mashed potatoes will end up 'gluey'.
Step 5
Serve: Spoon mashed potatoes into a serving bowl and drizzle with the reserved garlic butter. Garnish with herbs and serve immediately. Enjoy!
