Apple Cinnamon Pull Apart Bread 🤤
A soft pillowy eggnog bread with a sweet apple cinnamon filling! Full recipe below 👇
For the bread
3/4 cup eggnog, warmed not hot
1 packet yeast
4 tablespoons sugar, divided
1/4 cup butter, melted
3 eggs room temp
Pinch of salt
3 cups flour
For the filling:
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 large apple, diced
For the icing:
3 tablespoons butter, melted
3 ounces cream cheese , softened
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup powdered sugar
Directions: add 1 tablespoon sugar and the yeast to a large bowl. Gently stir in the eggnog. Let mixture rest until yeast is active and bubbly (ten minutes). Add in melted butter, eggs, flour and salt. Stir with a wooden spoon until all mixed together. Transfer the dough to a floured work surface and knead for about 10 minutes. *if the dough is sticking to the counter and hands add more flour , it should be slightly tacky but not super sticky* cover the dough with a towel and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (atleast 1 hour). Make the filling by mixing all the ingredients together with a fork, except the apples. Roll the dough out into an even rectangle. Spread with the cinnamon filling and sprinkle with the apples. Cut dough in half lengthwise and stack the halves on top of each other. Cut the stack into 6 pieces. Place each stack on its side into a greased loaf pan. Cover with a towel and let it rise on the oven while it’s preheating to 350 F (3 min-to 1 hr). Bake for about 32 minutes, bread should be golden brown. To make the frosting mix the butter, cream cheese and vanilla with a fork in a small bowl. Mix in the powdered sugar. Spread frosting over the top of the warm bread.
