Instructions
Step 1
Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Whisk together for a minute and set aside.
In a large bowl, cream the butter, shortening, sugar, and brown sugar.
Add the egg and vanilla and mix together until well combined.
Add the flour mixture into the egg mixture 1/2 cup at a time while continuing to mix all the ingredients together.
Add the chocolate chips. Stir until the chocolate chips are evenly distributed within the cookie dough. Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a 9×9 baking pan with parchment paper and grease well.
Press two-thirds of the chocolate chip cookie dough into the lined baking pan for the base. Layer with graham crackers, then spread marshmallow creme on top. Add chocolate chunks from two semisweet bars, reserving some for garnish. Cover with the remaining cookie dough. Finish with reserved chocolate chunks, a touch of marshmallow creme, and graham cracker crumbs.
Bake for about 28 minutes, but do start watching the bake a little earlier to ensure it doesn’t over-bake. You should see the edges be golden brown, but the center will remain a little shiny (but not gooey). Let the bars cool as they will continue to bake and set once out of the oven.
Enjoy!
