Instructions

Step 1
Start by preparing the dough: In the bowl of a mixer, add the flour, powdered sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add the egg in the center and mix lightly until the dough forms a crumbly texture. Then, add the softened butter and knead lightly one more time.
Step 2
On a floured surface, bring the dough together by hand into a ball. Flatten it slightly, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Step 3
Meanwhile, wash and peel the apples. Slice them very thinly so they are easy to shape later.
Step 4
Take the dough out of the fridge, flour your work surface, and roll it out evenly.
Step 5
Butter a pie dish and lay the dough into it, pressing firmly along the edges.
Step 6
Spread the applesauce over the base of the pie, then arrange the apple slices on top in a rosette pattern.
Step 7
Mix a little sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle it over the apples. Cut a few pieces of softened butter and place them on top of the pie.
Step 8
Bake the pie at 180°C (350°F) for about 30 minutes. Baking time may vary depending on your oven, but the pie is ready when the edges are golden brown. Enjoy!
