Instructions
Step 1
In a mixing bowl place your WARM milk , yeast and sugar . Mix it well and then let sit on counter for 5 minute to activate .
Step 2
Add 1/4 cup of melted butter , egg , salt and flour . Neat for 5 minutes in an electric mixer or 10 minutes by hand until soft and smooth
Step 3
Place into a second bowl which is greased ( or you can use same mixing bowl but make sure you remove the dough to grease it first ) cover it and place into a warm
Place for around 1.5 hours . Warm place can be in your oven on proof setting or even just with the light on .
Step 4
Once your dough has doubled in size remove it from the bowl and place on a clean counter . Using a rolling pin roll the dough into a rectangle around 1/4 inch thick .
Step 5
I spread around 3/4 cups of softened butter onto our rolled out dough evenly . Then add your 1.5 cups of brown sugar disbursing evenly or even using your hands to pat it down . Top with your cinnamon .
Step 6
I think cut my dough into 12 strips vertically . Rolling each strip up creating the cinnamon bun. This recipe should make 12 but depends on the size of your buns .
Step 7
Grease a casserole dish with the remaining 1/4 cups of softened butter Place each cinnamon roll into your prepared dish .
Step 8
Add 1.5 cups of heavy cream evenly over your buns creating a softer / moist bun . ( optional )
Step 9
Place into the oven at 350 degrees for around 25-30 minutes . Top with your favourite icing or glaze .
