Instructions

Step 1
Start by rolling out your puff pastry on a clean surface. Once evenly rolled, use a small bowl to help you cut out small, neat circles of pastry. These will serve as the base for your little tarts. If you don’t have a bowl handy, you can use a cookie cutter or simply freehand it for a rustic look.
Step 2
Next, lightly spray the pastry circles with a bit of olive oil. This will help the pastry crisp up beautifully in the air fryer. Then carefully tuck each pastry circle into the compartments of your silicone moulds. The silicone moulds are great for this recipe because they allow the pastry to bake evenly and hold its shape.
Step 3
So for the filling, add a teaspoon of your chosen caramelised onion at the bottom of each pastry circle. The rich sweetness of the caramelised onion complements the tangy flavour of the goats cheese perfectly. After the onion, layer the goats cheese on top. If you like a stronger cheese flavour, feel free to add a bit more. The creaminess of the cheese really brings the tart together.
Step 4
Once you’ve filled the moulds, place the individual cases into the air fryer basket. Set the temperature to 180°C and cook the tarts for about 10 minutes.
