Sheriff Don's Browned Butter
Browned butter gives a very distinctive and delicious nutty flavor to any recipes that feature butter as a recipe ingredient.
It is also a bit daunting to achieve maximum success for the first few times. The reason for this is that a lot of recipes have instructions that contain overly complex descriptions, which are impossible to visualize or follow!
Read and follow my instructions, and you will become a master in a very short time, but I should warn you that this will open up a whole new world of possibilities.
Replacing browned butter with regular butter makes things like pie crusts, breads, pancakes, waffles, or even scrambled eggs taste fantastic!

Instructions
Step 1
In a small saucepan, melt the cube of butter using a high heat setting.
Step 2
As the butter melts, it will start forming bubbles (like soap bubbles).
Step 3
At this stage, it is very important to stir constantly with a rubber spatula while scraping the bottom of the pan (this helps the milk solids caramelize more evenly). The big bubbles will start being replaced by tiny little bubbles (like beer foam). As this foam begins to rize in the saucepan, immediately remove from the heat and swirl until the butter becomes fragrant with a pleasant nutty smell. Light amber colored swirls will start appearing within the foam and, viola'... you have browned butter!
Step 4
Empty the hot browned butter into a canning jar or coffee mug with a cover. Be sure to include the brown bits (like fine grains of sand) as this is where the nutty taste comes from. This allows you to store and use the browned butter the same as you would regular butter.
