Azar Sweet Cajon Party Mix

8 steps
Prep:10minCook:2h
I was introduced to this bar mix at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort and found it to be the most addicting party mix I had ever tasted. It is noteworthy that the resort guests apparently agreed with me because one of the bar managers informed me that their customers consumed over 115 pounds of this mix every week. This represents my initial attempt at a copycat recipe because, to date, I have been unable to obtain an exact recipe.

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
Combine all the solid mix ingredients—nuts, sesame chips, corn sticks, and pretzels—in a large bowl.
Step 3
Prepare the coating by whisking together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and all the dry seasonings in a separate, smaller bowl until well-combined.
Step 4
Toss the mix by pouring the butter and seasoning mixture over the contents of the large bowl. Stir until everything is evenly coated.
Step 5
Spread the mix onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
Step 6
Bake for 1.5 hours, stirring the mix every 20–25 minutes to ensure even roasting and toasting.
Step 7
Cool completely by removing the baking sheet from the oven and allowing the mix to cool fully. The mix will become more crunchy as it cools.
Step 8
Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks. Store in airtight sealed plastic bags and freeze bags for 4 months.
