5 Spice Mashed Sweet Potatoes
Recipe serves 2+. Multiply as needed. Tastes awesome with pot roast.

Step 1
Start a med pot of water heating on stove. Peel and cut sweet potato into 16-24 chunks (cut in half, then half again, then half again, then cut wedges in half or thirds, whatever makes sense). Add potatoes and a generous pinch of salt to hot water. Bring to a boil and cook until soft, 8-9 min. Drain.
Step 2
Mash potatoes with butter, brown sugar, and 5-spice. Use a potato ricer if multiplying recipe. Whisk in vanilla and warmed cream, a little at a time, until desired consistency. Add salt, pepper, and additional butter to taste.
