Instructions
Step 1
Prep the wings 1. Pat wings completely dry with paper towels (important for crispiness). 2. Leave them uncovered in the fridge for 20–30 minutes if possible to dry the skin more. 3. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) OR preheat air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
Step 2
Bake or air-fry the wings Oven method: 1. Place wings on a baking rack over a tray (so fat can drip). 2. Bake 45–50 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden. Air fryer method: 1. Place wings in a single layer. 2. Cook 25–30 minutes, shaking halfway
Step 3
Make the Pizza Hut–style buffalo sauce While wings cook: 1. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the ¼ cup margarine. 2. Add: ¼ cup Frank’s Red Hot ¼ cup water 2 tsp dark brown sugar 1 ½ tsp paprika 1 tsp white vinegar 1/8 tsp garlic powder 3. Whisk until smooth. 4. Simmer gently (don’t boil) for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened. Taste and adjust: more sugar = sweeter, more vinegar = tangier, more Frank’s = hotter.
Step 4
Coat the wings 1. Place hot wings into a large bowl. 2. Pour the warm buffalo sauce over them. 3. Toss well until every wing is coated.
Step 5
Optional Pizza Hut finish Place coated wings back in the oven/air fryer for 5 minutes to “bake in” the sauce — this gives the signature sticky, glossy Pizza Hut texture.
Step 6
