Simple homemade crust for a small pie.

1. Mix dry ingredients

Stir flour and salt in a bowl.

Add cold butter and work it in with a fork or pastry cutter until you have coarse crumbs with some pea-size pieces.

Start with 4 tablespoons, mixing gently.

Add the 5th tablespoon only if needed — dough should hold together when pressed, not be sticky.

4. Divide dough

Split into two pieces:

• Bottom crust: slightly larger

• Top crust: slightly smaller (but still generous)

5. Chill

Flatten into discs, wrap, and chill 15–30 minutes.
