Preheat oven to 350

In 9x13 pan: Add potatoes and garlic. Toss with oil, salt, pepper. Add water. Cover tightly. Bake for 1.5 hours (or until potatoes are soft and easily mashable).
Step 3
Save the water that you drain. Mash the potatoes incorporate some of the reserved water if needed. Season with additional salt or butter if desired.
