Instructions
Step 1
In a medium bowl, whisk salt, paprika, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Sprinkle liberally over chops.
Step 2
Set aside 3 tbsp flour. Spread flour on plate and coat both sides of chops.
Step 3
In cast iron skillet, over medium heat add 3 tbsp oil. Cook till golden brown, but not cooked through, about 5 minutes each side. Seaside on a plate.
Step 4
Add sliced onion to skillet. Cook till caramelized, 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in cloves and minced garlic, cook about 45 seconds. Add butter and melt. Add 3 tbsp flour and cook until golden.
Step 5
Slowly pour in chicken broth while wishing continuously. Mix in onions. Bring to a boil stir till thicken about 15 minutes. Reduce heat and add buttermilk and water. Nestle chops. Simmer on low about 20 minutes.
