Half batch grapefruit chia sports gel

Still working out the viscosity and macros on this recipe. I’ve simplified it to equal parts of each ingredient. I used an 11.1 oz (330 ml) box of coconut water and filled the box with the grapefruit juice. Yield is approximately 48 1 oz portions.

Instructions

Step 1
I use a whisk to mix the maltodextrin power into the liquid and make sure it’s fully dissolved before adding the chia. I then let the chia swell until it’s obviously thickened. Sometimes I do this for a few hours and other times over night. After the mixture has thickened I whisk in the agave and honey, numerous times until it’s pretty homogeneous. This can be stored in mason jars, or I like to refill old honey squeeze bottles for easier dispensing into my soft flasks. Store refrigerated
